State Police Investigating Thefts in Tionesta

TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police are investigating the following thefts in the Tionesta area:

Theft of Timber

Around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, Marienville-based State Police investigated the theft of timber from a property in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

Through further investigation, it was determined that unknown individual(s) stole an undetermined number of 4″x12″x10′ oak beams and an undetermined number of 2″x10″x8′ oak beams.

The total value of the stolen beams is estimated to be over $2,000.00.

Theft from Motor Vehicle

Around 3:34 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, Marienville-based State Police investigated a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at a location on German Hill Road in Kingsley Township, Forest County.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that between the hours of 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, and 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, unknown individual(s) arrived at the location by unknown means, entered a parked vehicle outside the residence, and removed a backpack from the back seat.

The individual(s) then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim reported the backpack was recovered and nothing was damaged or stolen.
