Charges Against Sex Offender Accused of Attempting to Lure Children Withdrawn

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Charges filed against a registered sex offender accused of attempting to lure children into a vehicle in Oil City were withdrawn on Wednesday.

Court documents indicate that five second-degree felony counts of luring a child into a motor vehicle filed against 56-year-old Craig A. Ralph, of Oil City, were withdrawn on Wednesday, October 3.

According to a criminal complaint, Craig Ralph was accused of attempting to lure five children ranging in age from 10 to 14 into a dark-colored SUV sometime between the hours of 8:00 p.m. on August 23 and 10:00 p.m. on August 24.

Based on the investigation, Ralph was arraigned on Sunday, September 16, in Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland office.

In 2010, Ralph was convicted of possessing child pornography. During the following year, he was convicted on charges related to the sexual abuse of children.
