Knox Woman Accused of Hitting, Biting Man During Dispute Over Cell Phone Due in Court Today

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — A Knox woman accused of assaulting a man in a dispute over a cell phone is due in court today.

According to court documents, 30-year-old Catherine Ann Stinson, of Knox, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, on the following charges:

  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 3
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Stinson is currently free on $2,500.00 unsecured bail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, Trooper Doverspike, of the Clarion-based State Police, was dispatched to a residence on Petrolia Street in Knox Borough for a report of a domestic dispute.

According to the complaint, Trooper Doverspike spoke to Catherine Ann Stinson who related that she and a male friend were lying on the bed when his phone rang. Stinson said she attempted to pick up the phone and an altercation occurred between them over the phone.

Stinson reported that she hit her male friend in the face with an open fist, bit his forearm, and hit him in the crotch area, according to the complaint.

Trooper Doverspike also spoke to the victim, whose statement was consistent with Stinson’s statement.

The complaint indicates that the victim’s injuries were consistent with the statements.

Trooper Doverspike noted an injury to the victim’s right forearm with a bruise and teeth marks in the skin, as well as scratch marks on the victim’s rib area and a minor hematoma above his left eye.

Based on the investigation, Stinson was arraigned at 12:10 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office.
