CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say an area woman was transported to Clarion Hospital following a crash in Clarion Township Friday evening.

According to police, around 6:18 p.m. on Friday, October 5, Meghan M. Hartle, 27, of Falls Creek was operating a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, traveling south on State Route 66, approaching the Waterson Road intersection, and Kayla M. Brownfield, 18, of Glassport was operating a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, traveling south on State Route 66, stopped while waiting for northbound traffic to clear to make a left turn onto Waterson Road.

Police say Hartle’s vehicle struck Brownfrield’s vehicle from behind.

Hartle, Brownfield, and Brownfield’s passenger — Micayla C. Bothun, 18, of Saint Marys — were all wearing seatbelts.

Hartle and Bothun were not injured. Brownfield suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Clarion Hospital by Clarion Hospital EMS.

Hartle’s vehicle was disabled in the crash and was towed from the scene by Mark’s Towing.

She was cited for following too closely.
