Vehicle Side-Swipes Trailer on Paint Boulevard

PAINT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and side-swiped a trailer Saturday morning on Paint Boulevard.

According to police, around 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, Eric J. Downing, 42, of Warren, Ohio, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Trax, traveling north on Paint Boulevard in Paint Township just north of Advanced Disposal Drive.

At the same time, Paul W. Yeany, 35, of Shippenville was operating a 2013 Ford F150, traveling south on Paint Boulevard in the same area.

Police say Downing’s vehicle traveled across the double yellow line and into the southbound lane where it side-swiped the driver’s side trailer tires of Yeany’s vehicle.

Downing and his passenger, Sarah M. Stephens, 41, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Yeany and his passenger, a 14-year-old juvenile from Shippenville, were all wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

Downing’s vehicle and Yeany’s trailer were both disabled and were towed by Rustler Sales & Service.

Downing was cited for a lane violation.

Shippenville-Elk Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
