5bc0eedfe0089Dorothy L. Makar Obringer, 92 of McCalmont Street in Franklin and formerly of Pittsburgh and Barkeyville passed away peacefully at her home October 11, 2018.

Dorothy was born February 15, 1926 in Akron Ohio, she was the daughter of Howard. M. Fielding and Minnie Sanderson Fielding.

Dorothy graduated from Clintonville High School and furthered her education becoming certified in Stenography from the Duff’s Iron City Business Institute in 1966. She was employed for H.J. Heinz for many years in many capacities finally retiring in April of 1981.

Dorothy was first married to Michael Makar, the couple wed in Kennerdell on March 15, 1947, Michael passed away September 30, 1994. Dorothy also married Robert Obringer on October 13, 2001, he passed away January 23, 2009.

Dorothy enjoyed her pets. Throughout her life she had many dogs but most recently enjoyed the company of her dog Poppy who will miss her dearly. Dorothy was a kind, compassionate and generous woman. Her kind spirit will be missed greatly be her family and friends.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews; David C. Brunsgraard of Canton MI, Christy Ralston of Utica, Richard B. Brunsgaard of Parker and Karen Eakin of Emlenton. Numerous great niece and nephews also survive.

Proceeded in death by her parents and husbands and a sister Jean I. Fielding Brunsgaard.

Family will welcome friends at the Jamison-McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville PA on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Willard Morse, retired Methodist minister.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be sent to the Venango County Humane Society, a local veteran’s association or to a charity of one’s choice to honor Dorothy’s memory.
