Emlenton Man Jailed on $10K Bail Following Domestic Dispute Involving Gun

OIL CITY Pa. (EYT) — An Emlenton man has been jailed following a domestic disturbance in Oil City involving a gun.

The Oil City Police Department responded to a residence on Cornplanter Avenue for a domestic dispute.

Officers arrived and spoke with the victims and witnesses.

According to police, 32-year-old Blaze Bishney, of Emlenton, reportedly showed up at the residence and engaged in a verbal altercation and smashed one of the victim’s cell phone. Bishney was asked to leave several times but failed to do so.

At one point, Bishney allegedly placed his hand on his side where he kept his firearm in an attempt to scare others. He fled the scene before officers arrived.

Bishney was later taken into custody after admitting to being at the residence with his firearm.

The following charges were filed at 9:55 p.m. on October 11 in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Comm. Repeatedly in Anonymous Manner, Misdemeanor 3
– Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physi Offense, Misdemeanor 3
– Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, Summary

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, he was transported to the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on October 17 with Judge Fish presiding.
