VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – Additional details were released concerning an Emlenton man who was involved in a domestic disturbance involving a gun.
According to court documents, 32-year-old Blaze L. Bishney, of Emlenton, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, on the following charges:
- Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
- Harassment — Communicate Repeatedly in Anonymous Manner, Misdemeanor 3
- Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Misdemeanor 3
- Criminal Mischief — Damage Property, Summary
Bishney is free on $10,000.00 bail.
Details of the case:
According to a criminal complaint, on Thursday, October 11, the Oil City Police Department responded to a residence on Cornplanter Avenue for a domestic dispute.
The complaint states that the victims and witnesses reported that Blaze Bishney contacted a known woman — who he had been previously in a relationship with — several times after being asked to stop.
Then, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., Bishney went to a Cornplanter Avenue residence and engaged in a verbal argument with the known woman. During the argument, Bishney was asked to leave the residence.
According to the complaint, while leaving, Bishney took the victim’s cell phone and smashed it on the ground, causing the screen to break.
While Bishney was leaving the residence, a known male, who the victim is currently in a relationship with, arrived at the residence. Bishney then returned to the residence and entered into a verbal argument with the known male. During the argument, Bishney allegedly placed his hand on his side, where the victim and witnesses were aware that he kept his firearm, according to the complaint.
The complaint notes that Bishney has reportedly pulled out his firearm on the victims before in an attempt to scare them.
Bishney fled the scene before officers arrived.
He was later taken into custody after allegedly admitting to being at the residence with his firearm, according to police.
Based on the investigation, he was arraigned at 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office and lodged in the Venango County Jail on $10,000.00 monetary bail.
He was released on Friday, October 12, after a surety bond was posted by a professional bondsman.
