Scammer Uses Fryburg Woman’s Debit Card for $360 in Starbuck’s Purchases

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police are investigating a case in which a Fryburg woman’s bank card was accessed in California.

According to Marienville-based State Police, sometime between Monday, October 1, and Sunday, October 14, an unknown perpetrator(s) unlawfully obtained a known Fryburg woman’s debit/bank card information and proceeded to make a total of eight unauthorized transactions.

All of the transactions, which totaled $360.17, took place at a Starbucks Store in Berkeley, California.

This investigation is ongoing.
