VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Lottery officials say one of eight Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets worth $50,000 was sold in Franklin last week.
According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, a Powerball ticket sold at the Sheetz store located at 1107 Liberty St., Franklin, Venango County, is one of eight $50,000 winners in Saturday’s drawing.
Seven other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets worth $50,000 each were also sold for the Saturday drawing. Like the ticket sold in Franklin, these tickets matched four of the five white balls drawn and the red Powerball. Those tickets were sold at:
- A3 Mart, 7 S. Broad St., Nazareth, Northampton County.
- Anthracite Newsstand, 1 E. Market St., Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County.
- Price Chopper, 1026 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Luzerne County.
- Sheetz, 1978 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, Adams County.
- Speedy Meedy’s, 1697 University Drive, Dunbar, Fayette County.
- Shah Sunoco, 903 Lincoln Highway, North Versailles, Allegheny County.
- Turkey Hill, 1074 Gap Newport Pike, Cochranville, Chester County.
Along with the $50,000 winners, one lucky winner who purchased a ticket in Lancaster County will be collecting a much larger prize: a Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball with Power Play ticket worth $100,000 was sold at a supermarket in Lancaster County for the Saturday, October 20, drawing.
Musser’s Market, 35 Friendly Drive, Quarryville, earns a $500 selling bonus for selling the winning ticket, which matched four of the five white balls drawn, 16-54-57-62-69, and the red Powerball, 23, to win the prize, less applicable withholding. The ticket was sold with the $1 Power Play option, which boosted the prize to $100,000 instead of $50,000 because the multiplier selected for the Saturday drawing was two.
More than 195,000 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, including more than 39,000 tickets purchased with Power Play that won prizes multiplied by two.
While these prizes are making the news locally, national news is focused on several large upcoming drawings which are setting records.
The Powerball jackpot rolled to an estimated $620 million annuity value, or $354.3 million cash prize, third-largest jackpot in Powerball game history and the sixth-largest in U.S. Lottery history.
The current Mega Millions jackpot — $1.6 billion or a $904 million cash value — has set the all-time world record leading up to the next drawing on Tuesday, October 23.
