PINEGROVE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Venus woman was rushed to UPMC Northwest on Friday morning after a deer shattered her vehicle’s windshield in an accident on Route 157 in Pinegrove Township.

According to police, around 7:19 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 34-year-old Emily J. McWilliams, of Venus, was driving a 2016 Toyota RAV4, traveling on State Route 157 just east of Hampton Road, in Pinegrove Township, Venango County, when a deer ran out onto the roadway, striking the driver’s side front of the vehicle.

Police say the force of the impact caused the deer to impact the windshield, which smashed it out.

McWilliams was transported to UPMC Northwest by Community Ambulance Service for injuries of unknown severity.

She was wearing a seatbelt.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Minich’s Towing.

Pinegrove Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
