SallyAnn Berendts Snyder

Sallyann-Berendts-Snyder-1540477909SallyAnn Berendts Snyder, 73, of Westerville, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 22, 1945 in Euclid, Ohio to the late Harry Arthur and Helen Higgins Nass; also preceded in death by her step-mother Anna Rose Nass.

Sally graduated from Marietta High School, class of ’62, received X-Ray Technician training straight out of high school and then attended nursing school where she became a certified LPN in 1984. In addition to working as an X-Ray Technician in Marietta, she worked for a podiatrist in Gahanna, OH for 20 years and with Franklin County Residential Services for 10 years.

She was very involved in the community, through CCL (Children’s Coalition League), PTA, 4-H Advisor, Jaycees, Gahanna Lincoln Instrumental Music Boosters and the Gahanna Community Theater. Her hobbies include reading, sewing, quilting and traveling. She was a Snowbird, having enjoyed winters at her home in Northport, FL since the mid-80’s.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth E. Snyder, whom she married on October 13, 2012; daughter, Helena Berendts (Lance) Ford of Gahanna,OH and son, Brian (Karen) Berendts of Mason, OH; their father Andy Berendts; grandchildren, Hanna and Joshua Ford and Kendall and Branden Murphy; step-daughter Heidi Snyder Miller of Norwood, OH; step-son David Carpenter of Reynoldsburg and his children Kevin and Kaylie Carpenter; Aunt Bertha Krebs; cousins Jean (Ron) Hefflinger, Judy (Chuck) Spencer, Mary Beth (Bill) Hochtetler and Betty Rohrbach; Ken’s cousin who was a good friend to Sally, Jeannie Kenyon; other relatives, extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends 4-7pm (7pm prayer service) Monday, October 29, 2018 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., New Albany, OH 43054 with interment to follow at Mifflin Cemetery; Fr. Denis Kigozi and Rev. Mr. Tom Snyder will Celebrate the Mass.
