Charles G. “Charlie” Lambert

Charles G. “Charlie” Lambert, 83, of Oil City, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018, at The Caring Place in Franklin.

Born July 7, 1935, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late C. Gordon and Sarah J. Smith Lambert.

Charlie was retired from the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.

In addition to his military service, he worked as an elementary school teacher for the Oil City School District from which he also retired. He was a member of the Venango Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.

Mr. Lambert was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City.

Charlie was active in several Masonic organizations. He was a member and Past Master of Petrolia Lodge 363, F. & A. M. in Oil City. He was a member and Past High Priest of Cyrus Chapter 236 in Oil City, member and Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Occident Council NO. 41 in Titusville, and a member and Past Eminent Commander of Franklin Commandery NO. 44 in Oil City. He was a member of Keystone Priory NO. 26, Knights of the York Cross of Honor and a member of Antioch Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine. He was a member of York Rite Sovereign College NO. 76, Tuna Valley. He was also a member and Past Thrice Potent Master of Venango Lodge of Perfection and a member of New Castle Consistory and a member of the Zem Zem Shrine in Erie.

Surviving are several cousins, and a friend, Rebecca Hodges of Venus.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Sue Montgomery officiating. Interment will be in Rehobath Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
