Frank P. Vendetti, Jr.

Frank P. Vendetti, Jr., 64, a resident of Buffalo Street, Franklin, died peacefully Saturday evening, November 3, 2018, in UPMC-Shadyside, Pittsburgh; following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born December 13, 1953, in Franklin, a beloved son of the late: Frank P. Vendetti, Sr. and Dorothy M. Benton Vendetti. Following graduation from Franklin High School, Frank attended Clarion University.

He had worked at the former Joy Manufacturing Company in Franklin and for more than 35 years in the construction industry, with Whalen Construction and most recently, Reck Construction. Frank retired in 2004.

Frank was a longtime member of the Franklin V.F.W. Jesse Greer Post #1835. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching sports on TV, most especially The Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was married August 23, 1996, to the former Judy Lamb Coogan, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife of 22 years, he is survived by his son, Frank Vendetti and his wife Melissa; a daughter, Neika Vendetti and her husband, Josh Battin; two step-sons: John Coogan and his wife, Tiffany; and Ben Coogan; and by Shawna Calhoun whom he loved like a second daughter.

Also surviving are two sisters: Mary-Kay Hagerty and her husband Tim and Gina Vendetti Proper; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Lamb Knight; and Janet Morley and her husband Larry; a brother-in-law, Bill Lamb and his wife, Kathleen; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Koda.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank P. Vendetti, Sr.; his mother, Dorothy M. Benton Vendetti Howell; his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Lamb Moyer; his sister-in-law, Paula Lamb Everman; in addition to many aunts and uncles.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
