GASKILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a vehicle struck a train in Gaskill Township on Monday morning.

According to police, around 9:51 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 19-year-old Bryant A. Miloser of Marion Center was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, traveling north on Bowers Road toward its intersection with the northbound railroad tracks.

Police say Miloser was traveling straight downhill on Bowers road and slowed as he approached the intersection with the railroad tracks but was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting a train that was traveling on the railroad tracks.

Bowers’ vehicle came to a final rest after being pushed approximately 100 yards down the railroad tracks from the point of initial impact.

Bowers was wearing a seatbelt. He suffered suspected minor injuries but refused medical attention.

Bowers’ vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Rebuck’s Southside Towing.

Big Run Area Volunteer Fire Company and Reybuck’s Southside Towing assisted at the scene.
