Vehicle Slams into Tree in Toby Township; Rimersburg Woman Injured

TOBY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a Rimersburg woman was rushed to the hospital following a one-vehicle crash in Toby Township on Friday afternoon.

According to Clarion-based State Police, around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 19-year-old Alexandria L. Short, of Rimersburg, was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina traveling north on Curlsville Road.

Police say Short overcompensated while traveling around a left-hand curve, and the vehicle exited the roadway, traveling onto the berm directly next to the northbound lane of travel.

The vehicle then traveled into a ditch, striking it with the front end, before continuing to travel north and striking a tree. The impact with the tree caused the vehicle to turn counterclockwise. It came to a final rest facing west in the ditch, just east of the northbound lane of travel.

She suffered injuries of unknown severity and was transported to Clarion Hospital by Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service.

Short was wearing a seatbelt.
