2018 ‘Once Upon a Christmas’ Is Just Around the Corner!

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — Knox’s “Once Upon a Christmas” is approaching fast with a kickoff event at the Knox Public Library and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at the SMILES Park on Thursday, November 15.

Don’t forget that every location will be holding their own door prize giveaway, and one big grand prize giveaway will also be awarded from all of the entries. A smart elf suggested that you bring your return address labels to make filling out the forms quick and easy!

Deer Creek Winery will also be giving away a free night that the B & B (you must fill out the form found in our flier and return by November 18th to be eligible). You will not want to miss entering for that prize, too!

Friday, November 16: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 17: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 18: Noon to 5:00 p.m.

‘Tis the Season…or will be soon enough. We are sure that you will find something special for everyone on Santa’s list at the “Once Upon a Christmas” event in Knox.

Here is a sneak preview of what you can expect at this year’s Once Upon a Christmas!

A “Story Time Celebration” begins the event on Thursday, November 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Knox library. All ages. All is welcome. An Open House will also be happening at the library on Friday & Saturday during library hours.

Then, Knox Borough and the Knox Borough Police together will kick off the holiday season with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Bring the kids to the SMILES park on Friday, November 16, at 6:00 p.m. for Santa & Mrs. Claus to arrive and visit with the children.

On Friday & Saturday, begin your holiday shopping at the five Business and Crafters’ locations at Wolf’s Den, Wentling Corners, 512 Main, Shaffer Evergreen Rentals, Salem Community Building, and all seven of Knox’s Businesses. The businesses this year include Countryside Crafts, The Knox Bakers, State Street Studios, Himalayan Salt & Body, The Hit-N-Miss Ice Cream Co., Reclaim, and 512 Main.

Be sure to browse all of the beautiful gifts that include homemade crafts, wine tasting, candles, oil lamps, essential oils, lavender, apparel, gifts for children, home decor, and many more unique gift giving ideas.

On Friday, plan for lunch at the Edenburg Presbyterian Church from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Buffet style lunch consists of soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and drink of your choice. Take-outs available. Corner of Main and Railroad streets.

On Saturday, you can continue your shopping or have a picture with Santa at State Street Studios from 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Be sure to save enough time for a lunch at the Knox United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

At 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Shaffer Evergreen Rentals the Knox Community Choir will entertain with some Christmas spirit music. Everyone is welcome.

On Sunday, be sure to visit the many open houses or businesses and save time to enjoy a benefit lunch being provided by the Girl Scouts at Shaffer Green Rentals. Bring your appetite and support the girls with their many adventures.
