The Golden Eagles (2-0) won their previous game in the G-MAC/PSAC Challenge on Saturday, a 10-point victory over Ohio Valley.

Clarion trailed by one entering the fourth quarter but almost immediately took the lead, with Haille Hart scoring the go-ahead basket with 9:19 remaining in the period. That kicked off an 8-0 run for the Golden Eagles, who eventually took a 46-39 lead off a layup from Yasmin Lewis. The Battlers pulled to within two points just about four minutes remaining, but Yndiah Bobo scored on a putback to make it a two-possession game, and the Golden Eagles went 5-of-6 from the free throw line down the stretch to take the win.

Hart recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, tying Lewis for the game-high with five offensive boards. Kadijah Dickson came up just two rebounds shy of her second double-double in as many games, scoring a team-high 17 points and pulling down eight caroms. Lewis was in the same boat with 10 points and eight rebounds.

After trailing by five points at the end of the first quarter, Clarion dominated defensively in the second to take a halftime lead on Alderson Broaddus. The Battlers got a layup from Jenna Weatherspoon at the 8:50 mark but did not score another field goal for the rest of the quarter as Clarion slowly pulled ahead. Conversely, Dickson had five makes in the second quarter alone, cutting it to a two-point game at the 4:49 mark and tying the score at 22 with three minutes remaining. Jordan Bekelja put the Golden Eagles up by one point with 1:14 to go, and Dickson made a midrange jumper with 39 seconds left in the half to make it 27-24 at the break.

The Battlers built a lead by as many as five points in the third quarter, but Dickson cut it to a three-point deficit with two late free throws. Lewis sank two more with 17 seconds remaining, making it 39-38 at the break. The Golden Eagles finished off the comeback in the fourth quarter.
