League of Women Voters to Host Public Meeting Tonight: ‘Communicating with Your Elected Officials’

CLARION, Pa. — The League of Women Voters of Clarion County is holding a public meeting on Tuesday evening to help individuals be effective in sharing their views with elected officials.

The event “Communicating with Your Elected Officials” will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, at the Main Street Center located at 520 Main Street in Clarion.

The goal of this event is to help individuals get answers when contacting officials, from the language used to which ways of communication are the most effective in getting questions answered.

This program is open to the public, so please come prepared with questions and bring a friend.

Two Clarion University professors, Dr. Thomas Rourke, Political Science, and Dr. James Lyle, Communications, will lead the panel.

Both the offices’ of Donna Oberlander and GT Thompson were contacted to request someone from their staff to also be part of the panel. Representative Oberlander said she would like to speak with the league later; possibly December or January. The request to GT Thompson is still pending.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting democracy in America and raising awareness of the need for greater citizen participation in the democratic process.
