5beb330770520Robert B. “Bob” Shaderline, 90, of Oil City, died at 8:14 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Oil City Healthcare and Rehab, following a lengthy illness.

He was born June 28, 1928 in Oil City to the late Andrew and Sadie Shaderline.

He attended Oil City High School.

Bob was a former member of the Oil City Moose Lodge.

Mr. Shaderline was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed helping with a variety of maintenance and repair projects.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, working outside, traveling to Branson, Missouri, and spending time at his cottage and boating on Canadohta Lake. He was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He was employed as a field mechanic with National Fuel Gas Co. for thirty-five years, retiring in 1984.

He was married on September 5, 1982 to the former Gertrude (Johnson) Cox, and she preceded him in death on June 20, 2014.

Surviving is his daughter, Nancy S. Dunkel and her husband Ernest of Oil City; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Shaderline of Franklin; his step-children: Sara Donghia and her husband Anthony of Poland, Ohio, Rebekah Rosenberger and her husband William of Meadville, Michael Cox and his wife Lucille of Jim Thorpe, and Rachel Mitchell of Pittsburgh. His grandchildren include: Diana Fox and her husband Brian of Rocky Grove, Valerie Fry and her husband Terry of Oil City, Richard Shaderline and his wife Rebecca of Franklin, Robert Shaderline of Franklin, James Donghia of Bessemer, Craig Donghia of Jupiter, Florida, Melissa King and her husband Kevin of Crozet, Virginia, Erica Hale and her husband Jason of Winston-Salem, N. Carolina, Andrea Stewart and her husband Dennis of Winston-Salem, N. Carolina, Michelle Mongada and her husband Michael of Southampton, and Brian Cox and his wife Jackie of Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Frank Shaderline; a brother, Earl Shaderline; a sister, Peg Stivanson; and a step-daughter-in-law, Sue Cox.

Friends will be received Friday (Nov. 16th) from 4 — 7 p.m. and Saturday (Nov. 17th) from 10-11 a.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ali Berkey, pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 South Main St., Seneca, PA 16346.
