Vehicle Goes Airborne After Driver’s Dog Jumps on Him on I-80, Scrubgrass Township

SCRUBGRASS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A driver was rushed to the hospital on Friday afternoon after his dog jumped on him causing his vehicle to crash on I-80 in Scrubgrass Township.

Franklin-based State Police say around 1:27 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 59-year-old Glenn B. Ober, of Bellefonte, was traveling west on Interstate 80 close to Exit 41.

According to police, Ober’s dog jumped on his arm causing him to jerk the steering wheel toward the embankment. His 2016 Chrysler left the roadway and went airborne over the embankment. When the vehicle landed, the impact ripped off both rocker panels.

The vehicle came to a final rest close to the eastbound side of I-80 in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.

Ober suffered injuries to his leg, back, and neck. Emlenton Ambulance transported him to Grove City Medical Center for injuries of unknown severity.

He was using a seat belt.

Tom Hovis Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

It is unknown if the dog was injured.
