Emlenton Man Accused of Threatening Couple With Knife, Throwing Woman on Floor, Punching Man

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An Emlenton man is facing assault and related charges after an altercation on Thanksgiving night where he allegedly threatened a couple with a knife, threw a woman to the ground, and punched a man.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 25-year-old Brandon Frederick Moore of Emlenton on November 26.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Tpr. Jones, the charges stem from an incident that occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 22, at a residence along Route 338 in Richland Township.

The complaint states that Brandon Moore engaged in a verbal argument with two known individuals — one male and one female — which turned physical.

Moore, who lives at the residence, was left alone while the two victims were at a Thanksgiving dinner. When they returned home, the victims noticed the heat was off and multiple light bulbs were missing.

According to the complaint, the male victim went upstairs to “check on everything” and found Moore laying down. The male victim then asked Moore to come downstairs and talk, but Moore refused. The female victim then went upstairs to speak with Moore, and Moore allegedly held a knife in front of her face while stating: “You’re not getting the knife back, it now belongs to me.”

The complaint states that the female victim returned downstairs and Moore jumped out of the bedroom window due to the police being called.

According to the complaint, Moore returned twenty minutes later, and when the female victim opened the door of the residence Moore “threw her onto the kitchen floor,” then knocked the male victim onto the floor and punched him in the face and abdomen.

The victims attempted to leave, but Moore would not allow them. According to the complaint, he then dropped the knives and smashed the female victim’s phone.

Based on the investigation, Moore was arraigned at 10:45 p.m. in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office.

He faces the following charges:

  • Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)

Moore was released from the Clarion County Jail after posting $2,500.00 cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, with Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk presiding.
