Historic Brookville’s Victorian Christmas Celebration Kicks Off Tonight

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Historic Brookville’s annual Victorian Christmas Celebration begins Friday evening with special activities for the whole family.

The live Nativity and Chamber Singers will kick off the celebration on Friday night, and a Victorian Christmas Buffet will end the festivities on Sunday evening.

There will also be tickets available for the Ghosts, Myths & Legends Tour; a Victorian tea; children’s shopping mart; a Gingerbread House Party; a Wine Walk; Christmas Tree Lane at the Jefferson County Courthouse; model railroad displays; an art show; a craft show; musical performances; a strolling ensemble; authentic living windows; extended business hours; and sidewalk sales (weather permitting), and more.

Friday, November 30

Victorian Era Best Dressed | All Day
Downtown Businesses
See the local shops, restaurants, and other businesses in their best Victorian Era costumes. A panel of judges will visit each participating business and awarding points for accuracy, percentage of cooperation, and holiday spirit! Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale | 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Town Square
B’s Blooms will have an array of Christmas trees and wreaths for sale in town square.

Toy Drive | 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Town Square
‘Tis the season for giving. Donations of brand new toys will be accepted to assist families in need this holiday season. Sponsored by Clarion ABATE. Free hot chocolate with donation of a toy.

Live Nativity | 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Strolling Main Street
Bring life to the Christmas season and witness the Live Nativity make its way down Main Street. Starting at Franklin Avenue, ending at Barnett Street.

Chamber Singers | 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Strolling Main Street
The Brookville High School Chamber Singers will follow the Live Nativity down Main Street to Town Square and strolling Main Street after.

Living Windows | 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Various Businesses on Main Street
Storefronts along Main Street will come alive during this magical night in Historic Brookville! This favorite holiday tradition includes musical performances, demonstrations, and many of your favorite holiday pastimes.

Model Train Display | 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Former Dollar General
Allegheny Plateau Division National Model Railroad Association will have many model trains on display and operating.

Bowdish Model Railroad | 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Jefferson County History Center
Charles Bowdish, a renowned miniature railroad creator shared his talents locally. The Bowdish Model Railroad Display at the Jefferson County History Center is one of the most popular exhibits and redesigned multiple times throughout the year. Stop by to see what has changed!

Victorian Carolers | 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Strolling Main Street
Victorian Carolers will be strolling Main Street singing your holiday favorites.

Orchestra | 6:00 p.m.
Courthouse Lobby
Hickory Grove Elementary Orchestra will be performing in the Courthouse Lobby.

Brass Ensemble | 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Brass Ensemble will be performing while strolling Main Street.

A diverse choir group with a passion for singing!

The Brookville Area High School Orchestra will be performing in the lobby of the theater.

The BVFC Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their annual Children’s Shopping Mart, an opportunity for children to shop for their families for the holidays. All items are $10 or less. Free gift wrapping available. Kitchen will be open.

Soup Sale | 11:00 a.m. to sold out
First Baptist Church, Main Street
A variety of soup will be available for donation. All proceeds benefit Helping Hands, a Brookville Ministerial Association program assisting families in the Brookville Area School District with disadvantages, homeless, jobless, etc. Your donations are greatly appreciated. Take-out available.
**If you are interested in donating soup, please contact Pastor Ben Austin (814) 715-3533. Warm soup can be dropped off at the church 9:00 a.m. Saturday in a crock pot with a spoon. Please have your names on the crock pot, lid, and spoon.
