Richard “Rick” E. Thompson

Richard-Rick-Thompson-1543488298Richard “Rick” E. Thompson, 65 of Sandy Lake, passed away on November 28, 2018, at UPMC Jameson in New Castle.

Rick was born in Greenville on August 22,1953 to Margaret Eddy and the late E. Bert Thompson.

He grew up in Fredonia and was a graduate of Reynolds High School.

Rick worked for Davey Tree, Smith-Gray Chevrolet, Fredonia Borough, and Polk Center, retiring in 2012.

Rick married his beloved wife, Beverly J. Beougher, on August 8, 1988, she survives at home.

Rick was an outdoorsman loving to go hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling.

He was a devout Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan, his favorite racers being Dale Earnhardt Sr., and Kevin Harvick. He enjoyed watching WWE Monday Night Raw and Smackdown and in his earlier years attending Reynolds wrestling and football games.

He was also an animal lover having numerous dogs over the years that brought him a lot of joy and companionship.

Rick was a proud member of the NRA, a member of the Fredonia VFD, past member of the Fredonia American Legion, a social member of the Jesse G. Greer VFW post 1835 in Franklin, Franklin Moose Lodge #83, Fraternal order of Eagles Aerie #328 in Franklin, and a former member of the Harthegig Conservation Club of Fredonia.

In addition to his wife and mother, Rick is survived by his brothers-in-law, Danny Beougher and companion Betty Doyle of Stoneboro, Larry Beougher and wife Debbie of Elba, AL, sisters-in-law Debbie Mott of Franklin and Lisa Brandt and companion Bruce Slater of Clarks Mills, an uncle Robert Eddy and wife Marlene, an aunt Alma Winkler, mother-in-law Violet Beougher of Greenville, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

In addition to his father Rick was preceded in death by father-in-law Bill Beougher, brother-in-law Jeff Beougher, and aunt and uncle, Barb and Paul Taylor.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of Stoneboro, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 2-5 pm on Sunday, December 2, and 10-11 am on Monday, December 3. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 am on Monday with the Reverend Theresa Robison, Pastor of Kennard United Methodist Church, Officiating.

Interment will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery.
