Tionesta Man Rushed to Hospital After Crashing into Utility Pole in Fryburg

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a Tionesta man was transported to Clarion Hospital following a crash in Washington Township late Monday evening.

According to police, around 10:17 p.m. on Monday, December 3, Andrew M. Jones, 24, of Tionesta was operating a 2001 Dodge RAM, traveling south on State Route 208 near St. Michael’s Church in Fryburg.

Police say Jones’ vehicle crossed over the opposing lane of traffic and exited the roadway before striking a utility pole. The vehicle then rotated 180 degrees to its final resting position.

Jones was transported to Clarion Hospital by Shippenville Ambulance for treatment.

The severity of his injuries is unknown at this time.

He was cited for a speeding violation.

The roadway was shut down for a brief period as crews worked to clear the scene and restore electric service to nearby residents who lost power due to the accident.

Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, Snyder’s Towing, and Penelec assisted at the scene.
