Venango County Man Accused of Sitting on Woman During Domestic Dispute Due in Court Today

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Venango County man accused of sitting on a woman during a domestic dispute is due in court on Wednesday.

Court documents indicate 58-year-old David Guth, of Oil City, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, in Venango County Central Court.

He faces the following charges:

– Unlawful Restraint/Serious Bodily Injury, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary

According to a criminal complaint, on Saturday, October 27, officers of the Oil City Police Department were dispatched to a location on Fern Court in Oil City for a possible domestic dispute.

The complaint states that upon arriving at the location, Patrolman Rosenberger could hear yelling coming from inside the residence. He proceeded to the front window of the residence and observed a man, identified as David Guth, sitting on top of a known woman.

According to the complaint, Patrolman Rosenberger and the other officers then yelled for the man to open the door, but he refused. At that time, the officers began to kick in the door in an attempt to gain entry to the residence.

The man then released the woman, and she ran to the back door and let the officers inside the residence. Guth was then handcuffed and placed inside a marked police vehicle, the complaint states.

Charges were filed on Sunday, October 28, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.
