MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 37-year-old man is facing charges stemming from an incident in which he allegedly caused a disturbance and damaged a vehicle in a Monroe Township motel’s parking lot on Monday evening.
According to court documents, the Clarion-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 37-year-old Joshua Stephen Trosky, of Mapleton Depot, Pa., on December 3:
- Criminal Mischief — Damage Property, Misdemeanor 2
- Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Misdemeanor 3
- Disorderly Conduct-Unreasonable Noise, Misdemeanor 3
- Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary
According to a criminal complaint, around 6:37 p.m. on Monday, December 3, a known individual arrived at the Clarion-based State Police barracks to report damages done to a work vehicle by one of his co-workers, identified as Joshua Trosky.
The victim stated that the damages took place in the parking lot of a motel in Monroe Township and that he had to leave with the truck because Trosky was drunk and causing a scene, according to the complaint.
Trooper MacTavish, of the Clarion-based State Police, then stepped outside to see the damages to the truck and observed damage to the left rear quarter panel in the form of a chunk of the paneling missing, a smashed left rear window, and a smashed driver’s side mirror. Trooper MacTavish also observed blood on the hood of the vehicle.
The complaint notes that while observing the damages in the parking lot of the State Police barracks, Trooper MacTavish could hear screaming and yelling corning from the Monroe Township motel’s parking lot along with glass shattering.
Trooper MacTavish then proceeded to the motel. Upon her arrival, Trooper MacTavish observed a crowd that had formed and they were watching Trosky. She made contact with Trosky and his friend, a known man, who she noted was apparently attempting to calm Trosky down.
According to the complaint, the known man related Trosky was the one who caused the damage to the work truck.
The complaint notes that Trooper MacTavish observed that Trosky had blood across the front of his body as well as a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person.
According to the complaint, it was apparent Trosky had broken bottles or other glass objects throughout the parking lot.
Trosky was allegedly screaming uncontrollably and would not listen to Trooper MacTavish as she attempted to get him to stop yelling. He then responded by yelling obscenities at Trooper MacTavish.
At this time, Trosky was placed in handcuffs. He then made comments towards Troopers MacTavish and Norbert, as well as Corporal Yockey in a threatening demeanor, stating that he would “find out exactly who (they) were,” and other words to that effect.
He was arraigned at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, December 3, in Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office.
Unable to post $20,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, with Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill presiding
