Clair Vincent Cauvel

Thumbnail-3Clair Vincent Cauvel, 89, of Franklin, passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 8, 2018 following a lengthy illness.

Born April 6, 1929 in Dempseytown, Clair was the son of the late Clair F. and Mildred M. Pritchard Cauvel.

He married Margaret A Nestor on December 10, 1949, and she preceded him in death in 2007.

Mr. Cauvel was retired from Polk Center, where he had worked as a Tradesman Instructor for many years.

He was a member of the Congress Hill Church of God, Myrtle Lodge #316, the Oil City Lodge of Perfection, the New Castle Consistory, Cyrus Royal Arch Chapter #236 in Titusville, and Franklin Commandery #44 Knights Templar.

Clair is survived by his son, Michael B. Cauvel and his wife, Diana, of Brookville; his 2 grandchildren, Michael R. Cauvel and his wife, Erika, of DuBois, and Matthew D. Cauvel of Severn, MD; his brother, Fred G. Cauvel, of Polk; his sister, Shirley A. Stuttler and her husband, John, of Cochranton; and his very special friend, Nancy Ritchey, of Franklin.

Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Wednesday, December 12th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral Services for Clair will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Johnny Pennington, pastor of the Congress Hill Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
