Retiring RIU Executive Director Presented with Award From Senator Scott Hutchinson
At Tuesday night’s regular board meeting of the Riverview Intermediate Unit 6, Senator Scott Hutchinson (pictured on left) made a surprise visit to give retiring executive director Jeff Brown an award for “Service That Contributed to the Well Being of the Community and Ultimately to All the People of this Great Commonwealth.”
Representative Cris Dush, of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, sent the same award via his representative, Penny Pifer.
Jeff Brown has worked at the RIU6 for 31 years. He began in 1979 as a Speech Therapist, taking a 10-year break to gain experience working in hospitals. He returned to the IU to finish his career with the last 5-1/2 years serving as the executive director.
Mr. Brown will begin his retirement on January 1, 2019.
Dr. Michael Stahlman, the current Superintendent of the Clarion Area School District, will be the new executive director.
