Jefferson County Man Seriously Injured in DUI Crash

HENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Jefferson County man was seriously injured in a DUI crash Saturday on State Route 119.

Punxsutawney-based State Police said the accident happened around 5:27 p.m. on State Route 119 near its intersection with Pike Road in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, a 2006 Ford Escape operated by Robert L. Stiles, 54, left its lane of travel and crossed over State Route 119’s double yellow lines before traveling off the roadway where it collided with an embankment.

Stiles’ vehicle then impacted a large tree with its left front fender.

He was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of serious injuries.

Police said Stiles was found to be intoxicated upon their arrival. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and related offenses. The investigation will continue pending the result of blood-alcohol testing.

Sykesville Ambulance, Sykesvllle Volunteer Fire Department, and Big Run Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
