Mary Louise “Mary Lou” McEntire

McEntire PicMary Louise “Mary Lou” McEntire of Clarion passed away on December 14, 2018 at Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center where she had recently been residing.

She was 85 years of age.

Mary Lou was born on May 23, 1933 in Clarion, the daughter of the late Chester and Alice (Wheeler) McEntire.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having also been preceded in death by her siblings, Elwood, Alfred, Glenn, Arthur, and Lloyd; and a nephew, Kerry McEntire.

She is survived by her niece and nephews, Fred McEntire, Tim McEntire, and Dixie McEntire; great-niece and -nephew, Timothy McEntire, II, and Heather Jones.

She had worked at McDonald’s in Clarion, volunteered at the Clarion Care Center, and worked for the Dining Services department at Clarion University.

Mary Lou was a well-known and much-loved figure in downtown Clarion.

Whether enjoying a hot chocolate (…and sometimes a nap) at Michelle’s Café, or a hearty lunch at the County Seat, Mary Lou thoroughly enjoyed life and company of the people around her.

She was always willing to chat with you and tell you what was on her mind.

She cherished her independence, living at Liberty Towers, with the support of the Arc of Clarion and Venango Counties, and enjoying her time there until her health no longer permitted it.

She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion, and recently attended the Cornerstone Church in Shippenville.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with funeral services to follow at 12:00 noon. Rev. John Green, pastor of the Cornerstone Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery alongside her mother.
