CLARION, Pa. — Construction at the new Clarion County YMCA on Mayfield Road is nearing completion, just in time for the new year.
With the new building completion nearing, the YMCA is selling memberships early, so the community can be ready when the doors open. The construction team is adding the finishing touches and should complete the building by mid-January.
The new full-service YMCA is the first ever in Clarion County to offer a variety of amenities that have never been available to the community including an indoor walking track, swimming pool with lap lanes, full size gymnasium, inter-generational room, multipurpose room, lobby with fireplace, group exercise studio, large wellness center, weight room, and child care center.
With the new facility in operation, new programs will be available to the community including year round swim lessons and water fitness classes, pickleball, pick-up basketball, programs for older adults, full-day child care including preschool, before and after school programs, and more. The facility will also offer plenty of “open” swim and gym time for members.
A “Grand Opening” is being planned and will be announced to the community in the coming weeks.
Membership pricing varies and depends on age and membership type. The YMCA also offers a Corporate Membership Program through local employers and a member referral program for those looking for a great deal. Financial aid is also offered based on income. No one is turned away for financial reasons.
Membership prices are very competitive with other YMCAs in western PA.
The YMCA offers three-month, six-month, and twelve-month memberships by cash, check, debit card, or credit card. Monthly payments can be made via the automatic bank draft.

Memberships are also available through many insurance programs to those 65 and older. The YMCA participates in the SilverSneakers, Silver & Fit, and Silver and Active programs which give the insured a free membership and access to a variety of free classes.
Special rates are available for veterans and active duty
Facility hours will be expanded when the new facility opens. Hours will be monitored and adjusted based on community needs.

The current Clarion County YMCA hours are Weekdays 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Sundays 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
