Police Searching for Vehicle Involved in Christmas Day Crash on Route 28
According to DuBois-based State Police, around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 25, a white Chevrolet Cruze was traveling south, in the northbound lane, on State Route 28 just west of Grapevine Lane, in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.
Police say 22-year-old Keristen D. Walter, of Reynoldsville, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, traveling north on State Route 28 when she was forced to swerve to miss hitting the Cruze head-on.
Walter’s vehicle subsequently struck an embankment and then a barbed wire fence.
According to police, the driver of the Cruze did not stop at the scene of the crash.
Walter and a passenger – a 15-year-old female juvenile, of Cochranton – were not injured.
Another passenger in Walter’s vehicle – 21-year-old Devin S. Joiner, of Reynoldsville – suffered suspected minor injuries but refused transportation by ambulance.
All occupants were using seat belts.
Brockway Area Ambulance Service and Warsaw Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Anyone with information related to this incident or the newer model white Chevrolet Cruze involved in the crash is asked to contact DuBois-based State Police at 814-371-4652.
