Clarion County Recipe of the Day: Fluffy Orange Gelatin Pie
Try this lite and smooth dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Fluffy Orange Gelatin Pie
1 – 15 oz. can mandarin oranges
1 – 3 oz. package orange gelatin
1 – 5 oz. can evaporated milk, chilled
1 – 8-inch reduced-fat graham cracker crust
Prepared Dream Whip (optional)
~Drain liquid from oranges into a measuring cup. Add enough water to measure one cup; set oranges aside. Pour liquid into a saucepan; bring to a boil. Stir in gelatin until dissolved.
~Transfer to a large bowl; place mixer beaters in bowl. Cover and refrigerate until mixture becomes syrupy. Add milk. Beat on high speed until nearly doubled. Fold in mandarin oranges. Pour into crust.
~Refrigerate for two to three hours (or until set).
~Serve with a dollop of Dream Whip, if desired.
