Tractor Trailer Catches Fire on Interstate 80

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Emergency personnel responded to a tractor trailer fire that occurred Thursday afternoon on Interstate 80 in Clarion Township.

According to a Clarion County 9-1-1 dispatcher, the call for a tractor-trailer fire near the 67 mile marker on Interstate 80 westbound came in around around 1:49 p.m.

Clarion Fire and Hose Company No. 1 and Clarion-based State Police were dispatched.

Initial reports indicated the truck, which was pulling tandem trailers, was hauling both hazardous materials and corrosive materials.

The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

The scene was cleared at 2:54 p.m.
