Zelma King

5870710_fbsZelma King, 88, of 28 Walker Farm Road, Rimersburg, passed away at 2:30 p.m Thursday January 10, 2019 in the Emergency Room at the Clarion Hospital.

Born May 14, 1930 in Perry Township, she was the daughter of Walter and Florence (Evertt) Barger.

Zelma was married to Joseph King on January 26, 1948 and he died on May 18, 1993. Zelma was a Homemaker all her life. She was a member of the Park Hill First Church of God in West Freedom, in her spare time she enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking and spending time with her family. She also loved sending out cards to family, friends and her church.

Zelma is survived by five daughters; Sharon Richmond of Clintonville, Vickie Pentz of Emlenton, Lisa Hoffman and her husband Barry of Marble, Cherly McKee and her husband John of Altoona and Hope Goodman and her Husband Art Sr. of Rimersburg, one son; Roy King and his wife Peach of Callenburg, two sisters; Shirley Smith and her husband Elmer of Parker and Erla Barentine of Brooksville FL, one brother; Jack Barger of Parker, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters; Doretha Marsh, Marie Callender and Melda Hutchison, three brothers; Dean, Clayton and Clair Barger, three grandchildren; Amanda McKee, Violet Pentz, and Rod Richmond, three great grandchildren; Trinity Short, Jonah Pentz and Dylan Rae Sherer and also two son in laws; Arlin Richmond and Kipp Pentz.

Zelma’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m Sunday January 13, 2019 at the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo. Funeral services will be held at Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom at 11 a.m Monday January 14, 2019 with the Rev. Eric Mitchell, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Conneration.

The family suggests memorials be made to Park Hill First Church of God Youth Group, Lime Plant Road, Parker, PA 16049.
