BUTLER CO., Pa. (EYT) — A volunteer softball coach for Karns City High School allegedly sent a nude photo and inappropriate messages to a girl on the softball team.

According to court documents, 39-year-old Nathan Corey Ridley, of Chicora, was arraigned at 2:00 p.m. on January 15 in Magisterial District Judge Lewis E. Stoughton on the following charges:

– Disseminate Explicit Sex Material Minor, Felony 3
– Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1

The charges stem from a report Trooper Giustini, of Butler-based State Police, received on October 31, 2018, regarding suspected child abuse.

According to a criminal complaint, the report indicated that Nathan Corey Ridley sent a picture to the victim of two women engaging in sex.

The victim is a 17-year-old Fairview Township female, of Karns City High School.

Ridley first met the victim while volunteering as a softball coach for the school.

During an interview with the victim, she stated the following:

– She met Ridley in early 2018 while playing softball for the Karns City High School.

– They had become good friends as he would take her to and from softball games.

– In June of 2018, the victim spent the night at Ridley’s house. He had offered to take the victim to her softball game the following day since her mother couldn’t. The victim awoke the next day, showered, and walked into Ridley’s kitchen to retrieve a shirt. She was wearing a sports bra and pants at the time.

– The victim stated that Ridley “began talking weird the following week.”

– She referenced the following messages sent via Snap Chat and Facebook Messenger to her from Ridley sometime between mid to late June of 2018:

– “Oh, and I wish I would of taken a picture of you when you were wearing a bra.”

– Ridley advised he liked “ass peach fuzz” and that he would show her one day when she shows him her ass.

– Ridley sent a photo of two girls upright with underwear on.

– Ridley sent a picture of two naked girls making out. It appeared to the victim they were about to have sex. The victim advised being able to see the females’ breasts and one of their vaginas.

According to the complaint, on December 3, 2018, Trooper Guistini interviewed Ridley.

Ridley allegedly related he may have sent the message about wishing he had taken a picture of the victim in her bra.

When asked why, Ridley advised, “just being a pervert,” the complaint states.

Ridley confirmed to liking “ass peach fuzz,” the complaint indicates.

Ridley also related the only photo he could remember sending to the victim was a “meme.” He described it as two girls in their underwear wrapped around each other while sitting upright. The meme referenced something along the lines of “(expletive) buddy,” according to the complaint.

The following statement was released by Karns City Area School District:

“Our volunteers must meet all of the requirements in our volunteer policy before they are permitted to volunteer in our schools. If at any time it is brought to our attention that a volunteer no longer meets the requirements, his or her volunteer privileges will be immediately revoked.”

Butler-based State Police filed charges against Ridley on January 9.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on January 29 in front of Judge Stoughton.
