EAST BRADY, Pa. (EYT) — A 45-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly threatening to shoot an East Brady victim and his family.

According to court documents, on Friday, January 11, the New Bethlehem Borough Police Department filed the following charges against 45-year-old Gregory Amos Andre, of West Sunbury:

– Terroristic Threats W/Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3

The charges stem from incidents that occurred on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, and Wednesday, January 9, 2019, in East Brady Borough, Clarion County.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:42 p.m. on January 9, Officer Taylor, of the New Bethlehem Borough Police Department, responded to a bar in East Brady regarding a report of a man making threats toward another individual.

A known victim told Officer Taylor that he called 9-1-1 because whenever he arrived at his job, a male screamed at him saying, “I’ll (expletive) kill you. You better watch your back. I’m going to shoot you!”

The victim said the name of the person who threatened him was either “Craig” or Greg” and that he didn’t know the guy very well.

The victim explained that on Tuesday, January 8, he was at a Kellys Way house babysitting kids for a friend and that he had a female friend along with him. The victim stated that he was joking with the friend about her being pregnant when he heard a male’s voice saying “I (expletive) knew it!” The victim said that he went to see who was screaming, and he noticed the male standing in the home next to the bathroom door, the complaint states.

The victim grabbed a baseball bat and warned the man to leave the residence and that he had kids there.

The victim said that the man did not leave the residence and put his hand around the victim’s neck as to strangle him and threw him against the wall and said, ‘I’m going to (expletive) kill you and shoot you and your family!”

The victim then hit the man in the back with the baseball bat, eventually scaring the man outside of the residence.

Officer Taylor observed bruises and red spots on the victim’s neck.

Around 2:01 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, Officer Taylor and New Bethlehem Police Chief Malnofsky went to Kellys Way for a follow-up to interview the victim.

The victim showed the officers the door that had been damaged when the male suspect — identified as Gregory Andre — threw him against it.

The victim told Chief Malnofsky that he and his friend were smoking in the back bedroom whenever Andre entered the residence.

The officers then went to a house on Purdum Street in East Brady to interview Andre.

Andre told Chief Malnosky that he entered the residence where (the victim) was located; however, his girlfriend, who was the female friend that was with (the victim), gave him permission to enter the house.

Andre’s girlfriend was in the Purdum Street house, and Chief Malnofsky asked her if the story Andre had told them was true, and she said that it was. Then, Chief Malnofsky asked the girlfriend if she could step outside to talk to him and Officer Taylor, and she agreed. She then told the officers that the story that Andre told them was not true, according to the complaint.

Then, Andre stepped outside and told the officers, “You guys need to leave. You’re making her upset,” the complaint indicates.

Officer Taylor told Andre to get back inside the house, and he complied.

The officers went back inside the residence, and Chief Malnofsky asked Andre how he could have had permission from his girlfriend to enter the Kellys Way residence when his girlfriend was with the victim the entire time. Andre did not have a response, according to the complaint.

Chief Malnofsky informed Andre that he would be getting charges filed against him.

He also ordered Andre to leave the victim alone and to have no contact with him in any way.

Andre was arraigned at 3:25 p.m. on Friday, January 11, in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office.

Unable to post $2,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, with Judge Miller presiding.
