Slick Roadway Causes Crashes on Route 66

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — The slippery roadway caused two vehicles to crash on Saturday afternoon on State Route 66, in Mechanicsville.

Clarion County 9-1-1 told exploreClarion.com the first accident on Route 66 was called in at 2:16 p.m.

The second crash was called in right after the first crash.

Both crashes happened near Waterson Road, in Mechanicsville, Clarion Township.

Limestone Volunteer Fire Department, Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1, Clarion Hospital Ambulance, and Clarion-based State Police were called to the scene.

One lane was closed while emergency crews were assisting at the scene.

No one was transported by ambulance; however, it is unknown whether anyone was injured in the crashes.

The scene was cleared at 3:29 p.m.

Full details of the accidents will be released by Clarion-based State Police within a few days.
