Abraxas Juvenile Escapees Captured, Stolen Items Recovered

HOWE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police responded to an incident at Abraxas regarding two juveniles who broke into a vehicle at the facility and escaped on foot on Saturday night.

According to Marienville-based State Police, two juveniles — a 16-year-old Lewistown, Pa. male and a 17-year-old Uniontown, Pa. male — escaped Abraxas 1 around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 2.

The 16-year old male broke into a staff member’s vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, that was located in the parking lot of Abraxas 1 and stole several items.

The juveniles were recovered around 11:50 p.m., approximately 2-1/2 miles south of the facility on Abraxas Road, in Howe Township, Forest County. The juveniles were traveling the road on foot.

According to police, all of the stolen items were recovered, as follows:

– Browning 2.5 inch fixed blade with black handle valued at $30.00
– L&M cigarettes in red packaging valued at $5.00
– Two black cigarette lighters, one blue cigarette lighter valued at $1.00

The victim is a 26-year-old Tionesta male.
