Kennerdell Man Suffers Head Injury in Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 70

WASHINGTON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Venango County man was injured in a crash in Washington County on Friday morning.

According to the Observer-Reporter, just after midnight on Friday, February 1, 63-year-old John M. McElhaney, of Kennerdell, was driving in the left lane of Interstate 70 westbound, near the exit 16 ramp in Washington County, when his vehicle drifted into the right lane and struck the driver’s side of a vehicle operated by 27-year-old Amritpal Singh.

Police say McElhaney’s vehicle continued moving to the right, onto the shoulder near the ramp, before striking an embankment, trees, and shrubbery.

McElhaney suffered a suspected head injury and was transported to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.

Singh and McElhaney’s passenger, 26-year-old Cameron J. Works, of Pittsburgh, were not injured in the crash.
