Homicide Charges Filed in Death of Danny Kulling
OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Homicide charges have been filed in the death of an Oil City man whose body was pulled from the Allegheny River in May 2018, over five months after he was reported missing by his family.
Oil City Police Patrolman Regina DeLoe filed one first-degree felony count of Criminal Homicide against 22-year-old Eric Francis Beichner, of Franklin, on Tuesday afternoon at Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s Office.
The charges were filed after Oil City Police conducted multiple interviews with witnesses following the disappearance of Daniel “Danny” Kulling II. Kulling (pictured above) was reported missing by his family on December 26, 2017.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Beichner engaged in a physical altercation with Kulling on the Wye Bridge on December 24, 2017, that resulted in Kulling’s body being placed in the Allegheny River.
Beichner was arraigned Tuesday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey and subsequently lodged in the Venango County Jail.
Bail was denied.
He faces a preliminary hearing on Feb. 13 at 8:30 a.m. with Judge Lowrey presiding.
