CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A Clarion man found in possession of methamphetamine and an illegal weapon was sentenced on Wednesday to up to four and a half years in state prison.
President Judge James G. Arner sentenced 59-year-old Harry Bailey, of Clarion, to 27 to 54 months in state prison followed by five years of county probation on Wednesday, February 6, with credit for 209 days served.
Court documents indicate Bailey pleaded guilty to the following charges on January 9, 2019, in the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas:
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Make Repairs/Sell/Etc Offense Weapon, Misdemeanor 1
As a result of the plea agreement, the following charges were dismissed:
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor (two counts)
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 12, 2018.
Details of the case:
According to a criminal complaint, around 1:26 p.m. on July 12, Clarion County Chief Detective William Peck was contacted by a parole officer in reference to conducting a welfare check on Jamie M. Bailey at her residence on South 5th Avenue in Clarion.
At 2:30 p.m., the parole officer contacted Detective Peck again reporting that Jamie Bailey was at her residence, and two glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine and needles were found at the house. She was taken into custody and taken to the Clarion County Jail on a parole violation, the complaint states.
The parole officer stated that Harry Bailey was also at the residence, and he lives there with his daughter, according to the complaint.
Around 5:23 p.m., Detective Peck served a search warrant at the residence.
A search of the residence was conducted, and the following items were seized:
1) 40 separate baggies of crystal methamphetamine packaged for sale, approximate weight 10.8 grams, a Schedule II Controlled Substance;
2) Blue plastic container containing white crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, approximately 2 grams;
3) White plastic container containing white crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, approximately 1 gram;
4) Four digital scales;
5) Numerous pipes used to smoke methamphetamine;
6) Numerous pipes used to smoke marijuana;
7) Several baggies and small containers containing marijuana, a Schedule I Controlled Substance;
8) Numerous empty baggies used for packaging controlled substances; and
9) Spring-loaded switchblade.
Harry Bailey was taken into custody by Chief Detective Peck and transported to the Clarion County DA’s office and processed.
