Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Beaver Township Death Investigation

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 28-year-old man is facing drug-related charges in connection to the death investigation of a known man in Beaver Township.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, February 5, Clarion-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 28-year-old Joshua Lee Ross, of Parker:

– Conspiracy — Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3

The charges are a result of the death of a known man that occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 11:53 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, on Coulter Road, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to a criminal complaint, during the course of the death investigation, it was discovered that Joshua Ross delivered a Schedule II controlled substance to the victim on our about January 29, 2019, at approximately 10:30 p.m. to 11:53 p.m.

Trooper Berggren, of Clarion-based State Police, related that in the course of the delivery, Ross allegedly utilized a telephone number discovered by police to complete the delivery, the complaint states.

According to the criminal complaint, a check of the deceased’s cellular phone record revealed that numerous text messages were allegedly sent and received from the cellular telephone number associated with Ross to facilitate the delivery of a controlled substance.

Ross was arraigned at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, in Magisterial District Judge Amy Long Turk’s office.

Unable to post $50,000.00 monetary bail, Ross was lodged in the Clarion County Jail on February 5.

According to the Clarion County Jail inmate database, Ross was released around 1:53 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, after a cash bond was posted.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, with Judge Turk presiding.
