Geraldine GreenawaltGeraldine “Gerry” Greenawalt, 80, of New Bethlehem, passed away Monday evening, February 11, 2019 at the Clarview Nursing Center in Sligo.

She was born on June 7, 1938 in Shamburg; the daughter of the late Chester and Loraine Sherman Best.

Gerry married Charles D. Greenawalt on August 11, 1956, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2016.

She was a homemaker.

Gerry attended the Carwick Wesleyan Church.

She enjoyed playing the tambourine at the Clarview Nursing Center with the music group.

Gerry loved embroidery, reading, crocheting, and baking.

She is survived by her two sons, Terry Greenawalt and his wife Mae of New Bethlehem and Robert Greenawalt and his wife Shelly of New Bethlehem, six grandchildren, Dean Greenawalt and his wife Rachel of Mayport, Tara Kiessling and her husband Ezra of Shamokin, Scarlett Greenawalt of New Bethlehem, Michael Greenawalt of New Bethlehem, Jonathan Greenawalt and his wife Cindy of Rimersburg, Larry Greenawalt and his wife Andrea of Clarion, and Bobbi Lynn Greenawalt of Virginia, thirteen great grandchildren, a great great grandson, and her special friend, Bill Copenhaver.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Burns Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. in Rimersburg.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 in the funeral home with Rev. Gary Guntrum, pastor of the Carwick Wesleyan Church as presider.

Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
