Violet Faye “Janie” (Masters) Rudler

Rudler picViolet Faye “Janie” (Masters) Rudler of Knox, formerly of Franklin, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home surrounded by the family she loved on the evening of February 16, 2019 at 84 years of age.

Violet was born on May 11, 1934 in Rowan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Herbert Earl and Virgie Olive (Dailey) Masters.

She was married to Melford “Rudy” Rudler, who has also preceded her in death.

Violet is survived by her son, Dannie (Danette) Rudler; her daughter, Debra (Thomas) Myers; her step-son, Gary Rudler; her step-daughters, Jade Phipps and Victoria Rudler (Tom) Vogte; her grandchildren, Thomas (Nicole) Myers, Jr., Autumn (John) Marshall, Dennis (Karla) Phipps, and Tracey (Rob) Delsignore; and her great-grandchildren, Addie Emma, Sierra, Savannah, and Thomas III Myers.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her step-son, Dennis Rudler; and her step-daughter, Sandy Rudler-Elliott.

In addition, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hobert, William, Robert and Vernon Masters; and her sisters, Cova Craft, Clova Gillespie, and Olive Francis.

Violet loved her family.

She cherished time with them and looked forward to attending reunions in Kentucky.

She was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed and enjoyed attending her local Methodist church.

She loved the holidays and the cooking and baking to get ready.

Violet loved animals, especially dogs; and was fond of the birds that frequented her feeders and visited her gardens and flowers.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edenburg Presbyterian Church, 405 Main Street, Knox.

Interment will be in the Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens, Seneca.
