Relisten to the game:

“I’m proud of my team for continuing to work hard to improve as the season passed,” Clarion head coach Roger Walter said. “I’m glad to get our seniors a playoff experience, and it’s crucial for our underclassmen to feel this for the future.”

The Lady Cats (16-7) led by just four, 32-28, going to the final eight minutes before going 9 of 14 from the charity stripe to put the game away.

Kait Constantino was 4-for-6 from the line in the fourth quarter and 8 of 10 in the game while scoring a game-high 14 points for Clarion. KK Girvan added 10 points, Wendy Beveridge eight and Ali Troese seven apiece in the win.

Meanwhile, the Lady Cats defense held Cranberry’s leading scorer Malliah Schreck to just nine points.

“Jordan Best did a great job defensively on Malliah,” Walter said of his freshman.

Kaylee Bruce also scored nine for the Berries (12-11).

Clarion will take on top-seeded Kane in the semifinals at a time, place and date to be announced. The Lady Cats lost to Kane, 51-42, back in late December.
