Schill, J photoJames “Jim” Andrew Schill, 76, of Lucinda, PA passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 6, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 29, 1942 to the late Zeno G. and Edna Cohlhepp Schill.

Jim was a devout Catholic with a strong faith, so it is fitting that he passed away on Ash Wednesday.

When receiving the ashes, the Priest says, “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return”.

He belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, PA where he was a faithful and active member.

He was an usher, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and spent many years working various church functions.

Jim drove a concrete truck for Tionesta Sand and Gravel for 32 years.

After that, he worked for the Knox Township until his health no longer allowed him.

Jim enjoyed playing Euchre and 500 with friends and family.

He loved mowing his grass, watching old westerns, scratching lottery tickets, and joining his friends for morning coffee and doughnuts at Kelly’s.

He spent a lot of time on his porch relaxing while visiting with family and friends.

Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Kay; son James A Jr. (wife Tracy) of Marion, NC, son Jody (wife Cheri) of Weddington, NC, daughter Jolene Painter (husband Joe) of Monroe, NC; his grandchildren Kaitlynn (fiancé Scott Eastwood) and Maranda Schill, Emily and Austin Schill and Talen Painter; his brother Vince Schill (Donna), sisters Thomasine Overman and Louann Gatesman (Andy): In-laws Terry and Jean Dale: numerous nieces and nephews along with special family friends, Joe, Brenda, Madyson and Mason Montana.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ardelle Lander and his brothers Don and Steve Schill.

The Schill family will receive friends and family Friday, March 8th, 2019 at Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home in Leeper, PA from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, with the Rev. Joseph Czarkowski as officiant.

Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice/VNA and the Cancer Center of Clarion, PA, as well as to everyone who expressed kindness and caring to Jim and the family.
