Christina E. “Chris” Alex

5c86be664dc1cChristina E. “Chris” Alex, 60, of Seneca, passed away peacefully at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Shippenville Healthcare, following an extended illness.

She was born in Oil City on September 1, 1958 to the late James R. and Donna C. (Vogan) Alex.

Chris was a 1976 graduate of Cranberry High School, and completed the cosmetology program at the Venango County Vo-Tech.

She was a lifetime member of the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, where she served as an E.M.T. and firefighter.

She also served on the Parks and Recreation Board for Cranberry Township.

Chris enjoyed the companionship of her pets, especially her dog, Echo.

She was employed in the office at Minich’s Towing and Recovery on Riverside Drive in Oil City for many years.

She is survived by her son, Timothy J. Alex of Seneca; two grandchildren: Tyler J. Alex of Seneca and Trinity R. Alex of New Castle; a brother, Scott E. Alex and his wife Pam of Seneca; a sister, Stephanie D. Alex of Seneca; and numerous nieces and nephews, including her nephew, Michael S. Alex and his son, Ryder Alex, of Seneca.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William J. Alex; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday (March 13th) from 1 — 3 and 6 — 8 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.

No funeral service will be held.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial dinner that will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 in the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department’s Social Hall, 3494 Rte. 257 in Seneca.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 272, Seneca, PA 16346; or to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 S. Main St., Seneca, PA 16346.
