Clarion U.’s Johns Takes Sixth in 1m Dive at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS — Cary Johns earned another All-American honor for his career on Friday night, taking sixth place in the 1m Dive at the 2019 Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.

The senior will end his Clarion career with four All-American honors.

Johns placed fourth in the preliminary early in the day but fell to sixth in the finals, taking sixth place with a score of 492.70. It makes him the latest in a long line of Clarion divers to achieve All-American status, and he is now the 287th All-American in the tenure of diving coach Dave Hrovat.

Also competing on Friday was Michael Allison, who took part in the preliminaries early in the day. He placed 14th with a score of 392.05 earning All-American Honorable Mention honors.
